yay! it’s the weekend and the sun is out, but not too hot if you know what i mean (fellow Angelenos will feel me here). i’m planning on a little reading in my cowboy pool — ’tis already time for that around these parts. it’s also the long beach flea market this easter sunday — one of my favorites that focuses mostly on smaller home decor and the prices are quite good, too. enjoy your weekend, everyone!
xo, victoria
- this is such a pretty kitchen — the soft color palette creates such a soothing space to cook, and i love the juxtaposition of the rustic arch, the sleek, modern cabinetry and vintage chandelier. just smashing!
- i have such a thing for arches (see, another beautiful arch!) — why don’t all rooms have them? they just make everything that much more charming and welcoming, don’t you think? it’s the beautiful home of french blogger chloe & you featured in milk decoration is all pretty wonderful.
- isn’t this a cozy moroccan nook posted by carley page summers? i love that rug, and the dark exposed beam ceilings make it feel all the cozier. the perfect reading hideaway.
- the interior shopkeepers posted this photo of one of my personal favorite shops in all the world, A Vida Portuguesa in lisbon. last time i was there i purchased one of these black swallows that beautifully grace their arched entryway. this makes me want many more. guess i’ll have to go back (but officially you can buy them online, too!)
- this is another home in france, this time in normandy featured on my Scandinavian home. i really like the effortless style of that throw working overtime as a sofa slipcover. trés chic.
- i quite like this lala palm linen tasseled cushion — it swings both towards Moroccan and california beach vibes. and i like that it’s reversible in a way, with stripes on the back. she’s a beauty from karu, a wonderful little online shop filled with artisanal home textiles.
- i loved the way leanne ford revitalized this old cabin in echo park (now home to songstress lana del rey!). i’ve been on the hunt for an oversized vintage george nelson bubble lamp for my bathroom ever since i laid eyes on her gorgeous bedroom — i want one with just a little bit of aged patina like this or i’d buy one new.
- this is another lovely looking daybed, and what i especially like about it is the layering of textiles and patterns. the mix of different striped throws is really fun, but still quite serene looking.
